My Bike Ride

My dad loves to ride his bike everywhere.  He'll take off randomly to ride up Provo Canyon and back.  I went with him once.  Back when I was about 45 lbs heavier and a lot more out of shape.  The Saturday before last, I woke up to him getting ready to go up the canyon.  I told him that the next Saturday, I wanted to go with him.  That day was yesterday.  However, Friday night my throat started to hurt.  I had been up most of the night swallowing razors and was extremely exhausted.  So when he woke me up at 5:30am to go on the bike ride, I was not as excited as I had been all week about it, but I really wanted to do this with my dad again.  I figured a simple bike ride up the canyon and back will be nice and shouldn't be too strenuous, since I am still on small caloric intake daily and shouldn't be exercising too hard.
So we get going on our bikes.  My dad asks me if I instead wanted to bike up to my brother's house, which is about an 18 mile bike ride, so would be about 36 miles there and back.  I decided to attempt it and told him yes.  Well, to make a long story short, on the way back my dad took a different direction.  Thinking he must be taking a short cut home, I mistakenly followed him.  I must have biked 50 miles or more that day, on a limited calorie diet, sore throat, and beginning to feel feverish.  We got closer to home and I had to attempt riding up several hills.  My thighs would not push anymore and I had to walk up the hills then got back on the bike and urge my legs to peddle.  My body had had it.  We finally made it home.  I ached from head to toe, was running a fever, exhausted, wanting to die and trying not to be upset with my dad.  I overworked my body by far.
Although I feel the bike ride was a huge accomplishment because I'm not dead and able to write about this experience, I really shouldn't have worked my body as hard as I did, especially being sick, but mostly because I hadn't fueled my body properly beforehand because I wasn't expecting a 4-5 hour bike ride.
Anyway, yay for me and the bike ride with me beloved dad.  I'm transitioning now off the program.  I'm exercising on a regular basis and I've practically made my goal weight and have yet to post my pictures.  I need to just post them.  Maybe that will be my next thing I post.  We'll see.  I'm kind of hoping to shed a few more pounds before I do :)
