Progress

It is so exciting to be losing weight and getting healthy.  It has been a while since I posted, but I am determined to keep up this blog.  As of right now, I don't have an official before and after picture of myself or of anyone of my clients...yet.  I do want to give a shout out to my friend Daniella who lost 10 lbs in 9 days!  That was better than me.  I lost 5 lbs my first week, which is still awesome, but I am so happy for Daniella and also for Sarah and my friend Stophi, who have lost several lbs their first week!  Keep up the good work!

As for myself.  I have basically reached my healthy weight and noticed my weight loss slow down, but not before losing 13 lbs in 3 1/2 weeks!  Having had to wait 6 MONTHS to lose my first 25 before I knew about the program, my recent weight loss has been much more impressive.  Not only that, but I feel GREAT!  I may have mentioned this already in my very first post, but I really handle stress so much better lately!  Oh, and I'm working my way up to being able to run 4 miles!  I'm at 3.5 right now.  Yay!

So that is my post for today!

Goal vs Goodies

You may wonder why I chose to post a picture of popcorn.  Well, it's because EVERYDAY (not an exaggeration) my two year old wants popcorn, and eventually gets his way.  For all you popcorn lovers who've ever experienced popping popcorn in the microwave, isn't the smell tantalizing?

Well, Three weeks on the program and I am almost to my goal!  Though I eat six times a day and drink lots of water, I still drool at the site of yummy food!  Not that I'm hungry or that the food on the program isn't yummy, because a lot of it is, but when my family sits down to a nice home cooked Mexican meal (just one of the many examples of what I've faced the past three weeks) I can't help but want to sit down with them and dig in.

So do you want to know how it is I am able to pass up such tempting situations?  Well, I think about the two things I want, the yummy food and to reach my goal weight.  Then I weigh in my mind what I want more and that's what I choose.  It's not always easy to make that choice.  If you had the option to take $10 dollars today or $100 dollars in a month, what would you choose?  The $100 dollars could be the meal with your family, and no one is going to judge you.  For me this week, the $100 dollars was to reach my goal weight. Yay for me!

On the program one can decide to sit down with their family and eat what they are eating, and that's fine.  As a health coach I'm not going to put them in time out, I reserve that for my two year old.  But what I will say is don't kick yourself when you're down.  It will only make you stress, and stress is the number one thing (for me personally) that I would want to avoid because of the affects it has on health.  So DON'T stress! Pick yourself up and try again.  You will make it and be completely satisfied with your end result, regardless of the slip ups you made along the way!
